Thank you to officer Kurt Haas (DNR Warden: Taylor County) and Lt. Sean Neverman (DNR Warden: Sauk County). We recently had a trespasser on the property. This individual did not have permission to be on the property. Both officer Haas and Lt. Neverman were great. They provided assistance, resources, information, and guidance into how to proceed with this trespasser and options avaliable. Within a day the trespasser was identified.

Contact was made with the trespasser. There is a mutual understanding. He was aware the property was posted, it is private property, and saw the cameras. He reported that he was bobcat hunting. He tried to get permission saying it was good to get rid of the bobcats. He also mentioned that in the past (5+ years ago) he had received permision from the previous owner. This individual is now aware and understands the “previous owner” (middle-aged male) who gave him permission was NEVER the property owner. He stayed on the property for a period of time.

We have heard this from several individuals that the “previous owner” (middle-aged male) gave others permission to hunt/access the property. This middle-aged male individual was not, has never been the property owner and has/had no authority at any time to give others permission to hunt/access the property. Anyway – Moving Forward, New Chapter at Crabby Acres. If you are reading this, you received permission in the past or know of anyone that may have received permission to hunt/access the property in past, from the “previous owner” (middle-aged male), please note that he never owned the property and in no way had the authority to give individuals permission to hunt/access the property. The actual/real previous owner(s) was Janet (and Chuck) Henning. If you spoke with a middle-age male who stated he was the owner of the property (stayed at the property for a period of time) this information is incorrect. He never owned the property which means he never had authority to give permission. FYI – Property Ownership is public knowledge. It can be accessed several ways. One way is with a government entity (Taylor County). You will see the current owners listed, Janet (and Chuck) Henning as the previous owner(s), and the “previous owner” (middle-aged male) is not listed/stated anywhere because he was NOT an owner. (Facts are Facts).

We know in some situations it may be appropriate for others to access the property. For example, if a neighbor is hunting, is tracking a wounded animal, it would be appropriate for them to continue tracking the animal on the property. The animal is wounded, may be suffering, and this would be a valid reason to provide permission to access the property. Please contact us if there is an appropriate/valid reason and you would like permission. We are aware of these situations (several of us are hunters). We just ask that contact is made and permission is received.
