June 2024 Scott, Austin, and I made a trail to the ponds. It wasn’t great, however we were able to get to the ponds. Wildlife started to use the trail also. Throughout 2024 the trail to the ponds worked, we and wildlife used it and it got more established. August of 2025 Terry from TP Land Services came and cut/developed trails and clearings throughout the property. Trails were made throughout the 80 acres. Terry used the trail to the ponds and made it a little bigger and added a clear near the ponds.
I have read information and spoke with others related to developing trails. Most say it takes a few years to develop a trail system. Most wildlife like using trails. They are no different that humans. They are going to find and use the easiest route, especially when there is weather (ie. snow). We know this, it isn’t a surprise. It is exciting to see when it comes together after all the planning, time, effort, and money put into a project. Today we received four pictures of a deer using the trail in the back 40. You can see by the camera name and time stamp, this deer used the trail to make an easier trip through the property with snow on the ground.
