Dad and I headed to Crabby Acres Friday afternoon. We had enough time to unpack, set up, and take a trip to the ponds. This was dad’s first trip to the ponds. The ponds are about 250 yards from the camper. The plan is to make a trail to the ponds along with additional trails tthoughout the property for hiking, walking, nature watching, UTV/ATV, and possibly hunting. After adventuring to the ponds we went to Outboards Bar & Grill for Friday Fish, both had Bluegill. Saturday morning we got up early. Turkeys were gobbling across the road in a field. A grey squirrel was running through the yard. This was the first grey squirrel we have seen at Crabby Acres. We had time to clean out the little metal shed and dad put another cart together. Now we have a multi purpose cart and wagon. Had a short visit with neighbors that were up here and working outside on projects also. Around 10am it started to rain and according to the weather forcast it would be raining non stop through the afternoon. We decided to head home Saturday afternoon. Everything at Crabby Acres was wet and will need several nice days to dry out. Had time to look around and continue to discuss tasks/projects to be completed this summer or long term goals/projects. Dad and Duane are planning to come up in a few weeks for Turkey hunting.
